Nick Ford FCCA MBA
Managing Director
An experienced SME owner and Managing Director, I have managed small and medium sized businesses in the construction sector supply chain for 18 years. During that time, my company has successfully acquired businesses under various circumstances, and built a reputation for outstanding customer service and fair dealing with suppliers.
I believe firmly in family and community, and the value that local (often family) businesses bring to their communities, and am committed to providing owners of such businesses the opportunity to manage their exit from the business, safe in the knowledge that the reputation they have built and the values they hold, remains strong.

A vastly experienced executive professional with a portfolio spanning four decades and encompassing multiple C-Suite positions across both large and small enterprises. Having personally delivered 30 acquisitions across four businesses, I have a breadth of knowledge and understanding not only of running businesses but, in particular, in the realm of M&A preparation, fund-raising, transacting and integrating. My ethos has always been to work with acquired business owners and their companies to achieve a “win-win” for both and that has stood me in good stead for many years

I am a former main board director of Dignity plc, the listed funeral services group, I have more than twenty years first-hand experience of funerals and cremations and comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of the profession including the acquisition and integration of family owned funeral businesses. I also recognise the importance of providing outstanding service to the families of the deceased at their time of need and the role every member of staff plays in that. After leaving KPMG, at HSBC, and subsequently at Dignity I held several senior finance roles before being appointed to the board in 2006 to manage a large portfolio of functions across the business. I am a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, a Companion of the Chartered Management Institute, and a Chartered Manager.

I am an accomplished finance professional with a long and successful career in providing rigorous and incisive financial management to clients and employers. Having excelled in numerous roles in my career including as Group Finance Director, working in both listed and private businesses both in the United Kingdom and in the Middle East, I specialise in managing investor and banking relations, maximising cash flows from operational improvements and managing working capital. A practitioner of LEAN financial management, I also have extensive skills in Risk Management and Disaster Recovery, and in identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements and growth. I also have extensive experience in negotiating profitable, cash and tax efficient disposals and acquisitions.
